The provision of baby changing facilities independent to female toilets.
The provision of baby changing facilities independent to female toilets.
I am a father to my one year old daughter and love taking her out for the day on my own or doing my fair share when out as a family. However, recently I have noticed a problem that in a number of locations there are either no baby changing facilities or they are within the female toilets. This means that on an number of occasions I have either had to go back to the car change her in the boot, or her pram or on one occasion a lovely woman said use the baby change facilities in the female toilet and she would bouncer the door for me, which I was truly grateful for. As a result of this petition I would like to make it a legal requirement for venues where there is a reasonable proportion of young children or babies to provide independent baby change facilities or have them available in Male toilets as well. This will reduce the chances of my daughter having to be exposed in a public space, or unhygienic locations like the boot of a car. In the modern day society we know that bringing a child up and looking after a baby is now not always down to the mother, therefore we now need to ensure that we can provide the facilities to allow this to occur efficiently as possible without inconvenience or embarrassment. This will make it so much easier for single fathers and fathers out for the day with their children. Thank you for your time and effort in acknowledging my petition. Thanks Adam
