I have created this petition with two simple goals in mind; to raise enough awareness that the local government amend or abolish the bylaw in Cardiff, prohibiting skateboarding in any public areas of the city centre AND/OR build a dedicated area to skate in the city centre. 

As it stands, skateboarders are vilified and shunned  in Cardiff city centre despite there being a very healthy skate scene; multiple skateboarding related shops and a few skateparks in the suburban areas of Cardiff.  

We would like the ability to skate freely in open public areas without the threat of police action. 
Skateboarders are not criminals, we are not troublemakers, we are an incredibly introverted group of decent, law abiding people just looking to enjoy our pastime.

We love Cardiff and equally we love skateboarding, all we ask is that the bylaw be amended, thus ‘decriminalising’ the art of skateboarding. Either that or we ask that we are given a skate park/specific area in the city centre to skate freely.
