Banning the mowing of grass verges during flowers in bloom

Banning the mowing of grass verges during flowers in bloom
Why this petition matters
During important periods of the year for pollinators, floral resources are mowed and cut back along many grass verges across the United Kingdom.
Many grass verges; along road sides, within estates and other areas are maintained so heavily that minimal or no floral resources are available to any pollinator.
I understand people believe grass verges maintained to a short length makes them look better or properly maintained. I believe this causes the areas to be sterile and this is not beneficial to any species of flora or fauna.
There has been an increase in floral resources along grass verges during the lockdown due to Covid-19. Reducing the amount of mowing along grass verges will increase the floral resources and the number of pollinators.
This petition is to ask that the trimming of grass verges outside of flowering season, twice a year (Early March and late September). If the grass verge is restricting view and is classed as a health and safety issue, it can be trimmed but as a last resort.
