A national dementia strategy for Wales?

UPDATE (20th January 2016): Last week the Welsh Government unveiled their proposals for improving mental health in Wales over the next few years . Amongst other things, they are planning to develop a Welsh dementia strategy for the first time. This has been a long-standing call of Alzheimer’s Society in Wales, and represents a major step forward. At the moment, the plans are at a draft stage and subject to a consultation. Alzheimer’s Society will be working with the Welsh Government as well as all the Welsh political parties to develop a cross-party consensus so that the strategy can be delivered as soon as possible after May’s election. We will also be sharing our thoughts on what should be included in any strategy so that it can deliver the best possible support for people with dementia and their families. In the meantime, please continue to share this petition with friends and family, as we still have some way to go. Thank you again for your support.
