Petition for a community playground in Southgate

0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!

Southgate families are calling upon Wellington City Council to build a playground for Southgate - to create an important hub for our community to come together, connect, play, laugh and... bring on the fun! Please sign our petition by Monday 14 May to show your support.

The Wellington City Council 10-Year Plan and Play Spaces Policy show no plans for new or improved play facilities. Southgate lacks a centre or facilities to bring the community together. Existing facilities are poor (see photo above) and the hilly terrain and infrequent bus service make it difficult to access good playground facilities.

This petition is to request a playground at Southgate Park on Southgate Road to connect the community and create a happy healthy Southgate. This is flat terrain with a car park, making it accessible for buggies/wheelchairs. It's by playing fields and so would create a complementary formal play space, making a park that could be entertaining for all ages.

If people are the city's greatest asset, listen to us Wellington City Council, include a playground on Southgate Road in your 10-Year Plan.

Let's create a playground on Southgate Road to connect the community and make the most of our park... bring on the smiles!
