Hi! I am a student that goes to montour high school. 

Many people can attest to have bad hair in the morning, sometimes a hat can help and also be stylish. Hats are not the type of clothing that you can hide a weapon in, nor can you really hide yourself. It's not a mask. Recently students have been receiving detentions without warning for wearing hats, and I can't quite understand why. The issue of a safety concern doesn't make sense in montour's case because we can wear hats on Friday, then there's the disrespect aspect. The idea that hats are disrespectful is outdated, and has zero reason to be halting me or other students from wearing hats. Especially in a 2022 school setting. I among many others have decided to help this cause, and if we get what we want we get the freedom of dress code of something that should've never been wrong to begin with. With enough voices we can show our principal that this rule is badly dated and can change
