For years hats haven't been allowed in schools because they supposedly  hide faces and pose an identity crisis. For the last 2 years and half years we've  been made to wear mask in school but those hide more of our faces then wearing hats. As the times change so should some of the rules and the dress code against hats should. A lot of people use and wear hats as part of their identity. I know that one of the reasons for hats being banned is because of security issues but with covid and us wearing mask in school poses the same threat. If hats are allowed the disciplinary actions and detentions will go down meaning more students will be able to be in class more and not being as much as trouble then normally. Another reason is that hats should be allowed in school is because it could help students fit in with each other and it could cause the ostracization of religious students that have to wear hats and they could stand in more instead of standing out in the crowd causing them to be made fun of or being ostracized. Help us change the standards of the Indiana SBOE and allow hats in the schools of indiana.
