Convicted animal abuser, Christy Tuchel, is STILL using the court system to request a new trial.
On 4/21/20, a motion was filed to extend the deadline for the trial court to decide post conviction.
A hearing is scheduled for 7/16/20 at 8:30 am in Circuit Court Branch #1 in front of Hon L. Edward Stengl. We feel it is important for all to attend the hearing to show that we have not forgotten the horrors inflicted upon the dogs at Kinship Companion Kennel by Christy Tuchel and daughter, Breanna Mikula.
Background:
On 6/30/17, a search warrant found dead, sick and malnourished dogs at the Kinship Companion Kennel owned by Christy Tuchel and “managed” by her daughter, Breanna Mikula.
On 10/6/17, Tuchel was charged with Causing Mental Harm to a Child, Mistreatment of Animals Causing Death and 36 Charges of Intentional Failure to Provide Food for an Animal.
On 10/5/18, Christy Rose Tuchel, owner of the former kennel was sentenced to one year in jail and eight years of probation. She was charged with a FELONY for causing mental harm to a child, a FELONY for mistreatment of animals/cause death and 24 misdemeanor charges for intentional failure to provide food for an animal. She was sentenced to 8 years probation and 1 year of jail. Tuchel spent her jail time wearing an ankle bracelet.
On 10/8/18, Tuchel’s attorney, Gary George withdrew from the case. The next day, Attorney Andrew Shaw entered the case as her new attorney.
On 10/23/18, Tuchel filed a notice of intent to pursue post-conviction relief.
On 4/8/19, Tuchel filed for post conviction relief.
On 7/19/19, a status conference was held with Tuchel asking to name perspective witnesses.
After numerous postponements, the hearing is now scheduled for 7/16/20.
On 10/15/18, Breanna Mikula changed her plea from not guilty to no contest on three misdemeanor charges of being party to failing to provide food to an animal.
An additional 33 identical charges were dismissed but read in, along with a felony charge of being party to the mistreatment and death of animals. She was sentenced to 2 years probation and 60 days in jail, which was stayed.

Please attend the hearing. These animal abusers continue to try to avoid responsibility for their wrongdoings. They continue to burden the legal system and waste taxpayer dollars.
We will never forget the horrors inflicted by Tuchel and Mikula on children and animals.
