Christy Tuchel was sentenced on Friday. She will spend one year in jail and eight years on probation. The judge gave her 30 days to report to jail, with Huber privileges. This means because she doesn’t have a job, she will be able to care for her 6 children during the day. It was brought out during the trial that her elderly mother is the primary caregiver for the children. During the trial we also learned Christy spends her days in her bedroom watching TV in bed.
Christy’s young son and ex-husband gave heart breaking statements as to the damage and mental abuse caused by the convicted felon, Tuchel. Her son was strong. The support and love shown between Josh and his father brought most in the courtroom to tears. A relationship Tuchel tried to destroy for years. Quite a contrast to the mother who has disparaged him publicly for so long. How any mother could sit and listen without out a show of emotion was truly pathetic.
Christy Tuchel, her 75 year father, her elderly aunt and Catherine Schnur all spoke at the sentencing. Their instructions were to speak to the defense of Tuchel but since that was not possible, they spent their time defaming and blaming the victims. Her father was removed from the courtroom due to his belligerence. Both the aunt and Schnur were reprimanded by the judge. Christy showed no remorse and blamed all on the victims, her ex-boyfriend, Anthony Keyport, Josh, ex-husband and her many many illnesses. Christy spewed many lies to the court. After listening to these statements, all in the courtroom were left shaking their head in disbelief.
Tuchel sat thru the entire sentencing writing on a pad of paper as if it was the most important thing she had to do. She has continued to show no remorse and absolutely zero respect for the court. She refused to stand for the jury at her trial. After her trial, outside of the courtroom, she lunged at Sheboygan County Sheriff Roeseler. And during her sentencing she sat and appeared disinterested. Tuchel feels no remorse for what she had done and continues to blame others.
Several disturbing statements were made at the trial. Attorney Gary George(also a convicted felon) stated “Christy is what all women aspire to be.” He also stated that “Josh appears to have been able to recover quickly.” Well we have news for Gary George. There is absolutely NO ONE who aspires to be like Christy. She is a disgrace to all women and mothers. We know Josh will carry the emotional scars for the rest of his life. We ask that Gary George to apologize publicly for these horrible statements.
Attorney George also whined to the court that there was such much media attention on this case and so many people in the courtroom. He mentioned TV coverage, newspapers, social media, and oh yes, this petition. Well, we have a news flash for Gary George. We will continue to follow Christy Tuchel and her daughter Breanna Mikula. We will continue to monitor any attempt they make to be around animals. The community has been watching and we will continue to watch.
While the sentence was not as harsh as many would have wanted, we can take comfort in knowing the dogs are out of the horrid situation. Her son and one daughter are living with their father who loves them. Child Protective Services is now involved and hopefully protecting the 6 remaining children. Tuchel will not be able to own animals or run any business pertaining to animals for at least eight years.
And Breanna Mikula, her fate is yet to be known. Her trial is scheduled to start on October 16, 2018.
