I'm signing because this event is happening again this year from Nov 11 to Dec 30. It cuts off the most beautiful area of the park behind an enormous 3 metre high fence like a kind of Berlin wall, and totally out of keeping with the park. They are claiming that it only shuts off 20%of the park, but the southern half of the park, apart from the lake area, is mainly a large playing field and a fenced in running track.

We pay taxes to have a nice parc to use with our children. The best bit of the park has been sold... I believe someone powerful from the council received big money for it... this is not right at all.

It’s a public park for the public use, not for segregation. Local residents should not have to put up with this type of disruption. They should be listened to

I have always thought parks was for public use and a none profit and for everyone to enjoy walking dogs children playing elderly walking around sitting and watching people enjoying one of the biggest parks we have I for one don’t agree with this side of the park closed for 2 months

I grew up living opposite that lovely park and still have friends and family living lically. This will be an abomination in a beautiful open space in a built up area

Southwark Park is a much loved local amenity it should not be used for financial gain to the detriment of local residents

This will not benefit the park or local residents. Closure for 2 months is unacceptable

What part of 'public park' does Southwark not understand? LB Southwark weeps for funding while timidly acquiescing to Tory totalitarian strategies to privatise our very existence. Be complicit, or don't!! Just don't.
