229 Republicans Voted on Monday to Keep Trump's Tax Returns Secret

Mar 1, 2017 — Republicans are working hard to keep President Trump's tax returns hidden from the public. What are they afraid we'll find in them?

From Politico:
"House Republicans beat back a Democratic attempt to smoke out President Donald Trump’s tax returns Monday, after the issue was forced on the floor by an obscure parliamentary move.

Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) filed a privileged resolution Monday night calling on Trump to release his tax returns, saying the detailed documents could aid ongoing investigations into potential links between the president, his associates and Russia.

The House voted along party lines to effectively kill the resolution, which Republicans ruled was not privileged. But Democrats were quick to promote the vote results, saying it puts Republicans on the record backing Trump's decision not to release his tax returns."

The 229 "Aye" votes for Roll Call 101 were AGAINST getting Trump's tax returns, while the 185 "No" votes were in favor.

So, how did your House member vote? Here's a link that shows how every member voted:

If your Representative voted "Aye," he or she is helping to hide Trump's Russian and other international financial entanglements, loans and partnerships that could influence his decision-making as president.

Please check to see how your Representative voted and then call if they voted to keep Trump's tax returns from the public. To call your Representative, dial the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121. If you push 0, an operator can tell you the name of your Representative and can connect you.

You might say:

1) I'm very upset with Representative X's vote on Monday to keep President Trump's tax returns hidden from the public.
2) Every modern president has released his tax returns except Trump. What is he hiding? Why is Representative X helping him cover up his compromising financial entanglements?
3) I will work hard to ensure that Representative X is not re-elected, unless he demands that Trump's taxes are released.
