1) Create a searchable online sex offender registry available to the public.2) We are asking that St. Lucian child sex offenders who have been convicted out of St. Lucia be added to the list due to the potential threat they pose coming to St. Lucia.
Due to the fact that many children are victims of sex crimes every year in St. Lucia, we have started this petition to create a system of accountability for convicted child sex offenders. Parents and citizens have a right to know if or when their children are in the care of or in the immediate vicinity of convicted offenders. There have been numerous public cases where individuals have been raped and openly ridiculed by their attackers in the street. We have been advised of a number of underage suicides due to rape, where rapists have publicly mocked victims. We are petitioning the Government of St. Lucia to act expeditiously on these pressing Human Rights violations.
A recent case involving a St. Lucian National living in New York who pleaded guilty to fourth degree sexual assault of his 8 year old stepdaughter who he molested for 3 years between the ages of 8 and 11 has sparked some concern within the diaspora community and residents on the island because of his frequent travel to St. Lucia. It is with this distressing news that we urge the Government of St. Lucia and it's Consulates abroad to be proactive in adding St. Lucian Nationals who are registered sex offenders abroad to this list.
You can go a step further and send an email to Senator Victor La Corbiniere at firstname.lastname@example.org and Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony at email@example.com saying that you support this petition and you want to see a public child sex offender registry.
