So many people are already struggling with the cost of living crisis.  Indeed, you may be one of them!

More and more people, our friends, our neighbours and workers across the country are struggling to make ends meet and to pay for basic human necessities.  Food being one of them!

Poverty levels are increasing, It is absolutely abysmal and shocking that in this day and age in the UK,  anyone should be choosing between starving or freezing, but this is the stark reality of the state this country is in.

Working for a charity that gives out food bank vouchers, we are seeing increasing  numbers of people who are coming through for help. People who are desperate, desolated, embarrassed and even ashamed by their situation. It is heartbreaking to hear their stories,  and things are  set to get even worse this winter.

WHAT AM I ASKING FOR?  

Did you know people who do their food shopping online currently can't choose to donate food items with their shop?   

We can drive up food donation levels simply through supermarkets putting the option to donate onto their online shopping systems.  Local pickers can then add the donation to their local donation points.

We have wonderful community support groups across the UK who are delivering help from food banks, community pantries and community fridge points.  Please help with this so they can better cope with demand .

It's also great that supermarkets are supporting with their donation points in store, and also donating produce in some cases,  but let's encourage them to do that little bit more so more people can be reached and helped.

This is not the first petition of its kind, people have tried before...but clearly there needs to be masses of support to put this on the radar of supermarkets and to achieve positive action.
