We want the right to vote on our future and cityhood

Please join the Concerned Citizens for Cityhood of South DeKalb Inc. (CCCSD) and the Greenhaven Business Alliance, Inc. (GBA) in urging the Georgia State Assembly to approve a referendum for the citizens of south DeKalb County to vote on the proposed City of Greenhaven.
We believe that residents in southern DeKalb should have the same right everyone else in DeKalb County (except south DeKalb) has had – the opportunity to vote on whether they want a city. For 3 years Greenhaven organizers have met all the requirements put forth by the Georgia State Legislature. All the other proposed cities in DeKalb that met the requirements were approved. We believe the residents of south DeKalb should not be denied the right to vote!
The proposed city of Greenhaven represents 88% of the population in southern DeKalb (41% of the total population in DeKalb county), is commercially underdeveloped, has consistently lower housing values, and has fewer amenities when compared to its northern counterpart. The residents of southern DeKalb deserve more localized attention to our community needs and expectations.
We sign this petition because we want the right to self-determination. We sign this petition because we want to be treated like everyone else in DeKalb County who was given the right to vote on cityhood. We sign this petition because WE WANT TO BE ALLOWED TO VOTE on our future.
The Greenhaven Team is the organizer of this petition. They support the right of citizens in southern DeKalb County to vote on cityhood.
