Dharwad is the district headquarter, it has been meted out step-motherly treatment.

Dharwad, considered an education hub, has Karnatak University and the University of Agricultural Sciences, besides IIIT and IIT, and also has several industries. A large number of people from other districts and states are staying in Dharwad.

Dharwad city needs better infrastructure.To ensure the comprehensive development of the city, there is need for bifurcation of the HDMC and creation of a separate civic body to Dharwad.

A major chunk of developmental activities and funds meant for developmental works are diverted to Hubballi city, while Dharwad is getting a raw deal every time.

Objective is to develop Dharwad and ensure that the grants announced for public infrastructure are used judiciously with a vision.
