Victory

President Kulinski, We urge you to bring back the posters to the ABF building.

President Kulinski,

We, the AUBG faculty members, staff, students, and alumni, are greatly disturbed by the decision to remove the display of original Communist-era posters donated by the late, great Cosmina Tanasoiu from the 2nd floor of the ABF building.

The mission of the American University in Bulgaria is to educate students of outstanding potential in a community of academic excellence, diversity, and respect and to prepare them for democratic and ethical leadership in serving the needs of the region and the world.

We believe that the display served as a reminder of the tragic mistakes of the past and as an incentive to stay truthful to the democratic values and traditions as the means of avoiding those mistakes in the future.

Moreover, the display was associated with memories of Cosmina Tanasoiu who during her teaching career at AUBG touched upon the minds and hearts of generations of AUBG students, faculty members, and staff.

Hence, we urge you to repeal the decision to remove the display of original Communist-era posters from the 2nd floor of the ABF Building and consider the possibility of returning them back to the ABF Building permanently with a plaque honoring the memory of Cosmina Tanasoiu.

Sincerely,
