Petition Summary: We Urge Honorable Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino to look at the Canadian Embassy Immigration Department's original February 24th, 2016 decision that disallowed Mrs. Samuels a Filipino, access to visit Canada. We Petition to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship

Whereas:

1. COVID-19 has delayed Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)) applications, both outland and inland;
2. Outland and inland applications are expected to be complete in 12 months, according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC);
3. Many outland application delays have already exceeded the 12-month timeline at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic (March 2020);
4. Temporary Resident Visas are generally denied for spouses from visa-required countries;
5. Extended periods of separation from loved ones may cause severe emotional distress, anxiety, and situational depression;
6. Children, in particular, suffer greatly from the physical absence of a parental figure;
Citizens and permanent residents have the right to obtain government services within a reasonable time frame; and
7. As per IRCC Procedural Fairness policies, “Applicants should not be subject to unnecessary delays.”

Mrs. Samuels and her children are not seeking to immigrate to Canada but to be reunited with her husband along with their children especially during this COVID 19 epidemic. It's unfortunate that they need permission just to see relatives in Canada. They should be given the right as every other family or married couple the access to visit their relatives as recently anouced by the office of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship "Canada Easing Border Restrictions To Allow For Family Reunification" Source: Global News Broadcast October 2 2020. We Believe that our Canadian Immigration department has demonstrated unfairness in this particular case as per their reasons.

Action Petitioned For: We, the undersigned, Canadians and Permanent residents, call upon the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship to offer the following accommodations to accelerate the reunification of this family by granting them aTemporary Resident Visa(TRV) We also ask the Honorable Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino to act with Humanity, Compassion, and Understanding and grant Mrs. Samuals and her children access to visit her husband and relatives in Canada. Mrs. Samuels and her children have already lost SIX and a HALF years that can never be recovered. Being together as a family is vital to achieving a healthy and stable environment for children. Once again, this is not a request for immigration. This is a request for visitation. This petition is a request to allow Mrs. Samuels and her children to visit her husband and their father. Thank you
