Sasha Ivanovich started this petition to The Hon Scott Morrison MP (Prime Minister of Australia) and

At last it is becoming accepted globally that human activity, carbon emissions generated by human activity is the cause of looming catastrophic climate change whilst in Australia we have not fully grasped our available opportunities, unique to Australia, to switch from carbon dioxide generating industries and energy sources.

We are under-prepared for the changing climate outcomes that are upon us - in managing our cities, our natural environment, our way of life,  our natural treasures like protecting Australian bio-diversity.

We must embrace reason and scientific evidence and in this instance at least, abandon short term political solutions that pamper to vested interests.

Scientific evidence, proven methodologies and models need now be placed at the forefront. The CSIRO – the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation prepared decade-long study on climate change and future impacts on Australia to 2050 need be put into good effect.

A comprehensive Energy Supply Policy for Australia must responds to climate change to meet the required targets and be reflected in the way we grow our cities, manage our built and natural environment, our agricultural practices and natural resources].

We petition the Prime Minister and cabinet to develop, legislate and regulate a cohesive national energy supply policy for Australia and places science and the nations long term goals at the forefront:

• Establish a bi-partisan steering body to assemble a group of experts across    disciplines dealing with energy policy and flow on flow on legislature in dealing with the man-made and natural environment that will oversee the operation of our energy supply policy.

• Establish a foundation library of accepted data and research, including for example, - 'Future Australia to 2050', already undertaken by the CSIRO .

• Call for public submissions

• Establish and regulate a national policy framework that permits only those energy generation developments that are shown to be in the interests of the health of the global climate.

• Legislate for amendments to city planning, industry and agriculture practices to preserve and enhance bio-diversity and our national natural treasures in reference to global climate change .
