For years, communities and advocates have pointed to the high number of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls in Canada. They are at high-risk for life-threatening, gender-based violence, and unreasonably experience violent crimes because of hated and racism. We are standing with Indigenous women and girls to end the violence against them and are using our voice to put an end the crimes against Indigenous women that continue to take lives and destroy many others from grief, trauma and loss. We are preaching that the time for talking about what could be done to end the violence has come and gone, and now it’s time for action.

We Stand with Indigenous Women and Girls have launched a petition to further spread awareness and to help gain supporters and identify those who may want to be involved in this issue. We hope to create a community that is dedicated to advocating for the Indigenous women and girls who have experienced violence, to take action if the government refuses to support or act on what the National Inquiry to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls revealed, and supporting Indigenous women and girls who have experienced violence as well as their families.
