Vivek Sarpal started this petition to Prime Minister of India (PMO INDIA)

Every year we are purchasing billions of dollar worth of ICT Telephony equipment, software, services from either western or chinese vendors. Now multiple challenges are emerging in supplies, security sphere, tougher economic environment. It is high time when we set a bold step and indigenize network gears and softwares running on them along with begin to work on future platforms.

To develop large scale ecosystem in country, lot of money is needed to be put in with intention of self reliance.

This in turn will benefit us with many employment opportunities, export opportunities, can use the capabilities in other industries and defense.

Right now we are spending lot of foreign exchange in precuring the gear, also lot of logistic efforts are needed to see the equipment is delivered safely and timely and then need foreign help to debug the gear and maintanence, many of which again require long term service contracts.

In nutshell our industry is not gaining anything on technology aspect and not able to gain any value for money.

Most of the time package purchased from other country does not meet our requirement entirely and we are not able to customize according to our requirements. There is neither transfer of technology involved nor is licensed manufacturing. Even the spares inventory and repair facilities are very limited.

We need to find fair partnerships within our country to see the self reliance becoming true in near future. This is a very bold step where government can look for public participation and gather the resources to pool the investment, research and development and industry chain.

Effort of this petition is to form the public opinion and draw the attention of Government of India.
