People who have ever watched the cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants, probably, hardly paid attention to the background music, playing during the episodes.
Tracks from SpongeBob have different moods, themes, genres, and all of them are gorgeous. The more episodes that aired, the more original music appeared in the series. Perhaps the original music is one of the best soundtracks for an animated series ever! It's composed by a variety of talented composers, such as Nicolas Carr, Jeremy Wakefield, Sage Guyton, Ron Wasserman, Michael Bolger, Barry Anthony, Pat Irwin, Fabian Fernandez, Eban Schletter, Steve Marston, Steve Belfer, James King, Theo Mondle, Gary Stockdale, Peter Straus, The Blue Hawaiians, Brad Carow, Andy Paley, Hiram Titus, and others.
People love this music, but Nickelodeon and Viacom don't notice, so they don't want to make a release and the music is nowhere accessible. For more than 18 years of the show existence, many tracks have never played in full form, some played only once. Copyright is the reason why composers can't release it themselves. Let's prove with this petition that we appreciate the original compositions and we want them to be released. We also want Nickelodeon to provide composers a right to make releases of their tracks themselves. If Viacom doesn't care about this, let composers care. Let the world knows about the grandeur of this music and the name of the little-known, but wonderful composer Nicolas Carr (who is also music editor of the cartoon), and also glorify all other SpongeBob composers. They created a truly new genre in music!
