Affordable Housing Project

Have you or someone you know ever contemplated moving away because of the rising home prices in Hawaii due to the lack of affordable housing inventory? Are you tired of hearing empty promises that never materialize? Or are you looking for an opportunity to own a home of your own possibly? If so, this could be your chance!

In 2011 a local girl from Kahuku named Patsy Colburn met a local boy from Kaneohe named Reuben Fung, who faced very similar circumstances at some point in their lives. So rather than waiting in frustration, they set out to do something about it, and that something is called Managers Ridge. Mangers Ridge is located on the last parcel in Kahuku out of the flood zone and infrastructure ready, providing a surplus of affordable housing inventory for the community.

In the early 1970s, John “Jr” Primacio and a few of his close allies strategically forecasted and prepared Managers Ridge for the community by working on converting leasehold properties to fee simple. Conveniently located within a 1-mile radius of the hospital, police, and fire stations, ensuring our Keiki wouldn’t need to cross Kamehameha Highway going to and from school by having it located within the same one-mile radius, and finally, had all of the utilities conveniently end at the Managers Ridge doorstep for future development.

Thanks to Jr’s foresight, and Patsy’s vision, Managers Ridge is currently in DPP for final reviews with hopes to be community-ready this year! There will be a total of 86 fee simple lots, with a mixture of single-family homes and vacant lots for homeowner builders priced from $350K-$680K, which is currently less than the lowest-priced inventory located in the same area and 30+ years old.

If this sounds like something you or someone you know might be interested in or empathize and understand the need and opportunity it would bring for the entire community, please kindly support our mission by signing our petition.

Please join us for an Open house on June 5th, from 3-6 PM, where additional project information, updates, and refreshments will be provided.
