Redesign L.A.'s City Flag

Los Angeles needs a new flag. There is no doubt that we are one of the greatest, most influential cities in the world. Wired Magazine recently named us the "#1 City of Tomorrow,” and even the New York Times admitted, “Los Angeles is enjoying a renaissance with a burgeoning art, fashion and food scene that has become irresistible to the culturally attuned.” But the one thing we’re missing, the one thing every great city deserves, is a great flag. Our current flag is neither recognizable, nor symbolic, nor representative of us, as a city or as Angelenos. Most people don’t even know it, and because they don’t know it, they don’t fly it. But we intend to change that.
Los Angeles is currently undergoing a profound transformation. Development is booming, neighborhoods are thriving, and the very heart of our city is growing and adapting to meet the demands of an ever-changing 21st century. We are not just home to celluloid dreams and iconic landscapes, but also to a growing tech industry, world-class cultural centers, and the fastest growing mass transit system in the country. We are in the midst of a stunning revival and, as such, are currently the frontrunner to host the Olympics in 2024. We have set a course to strengthen and transform our city, to create a more sustainable L.A., and right now all eyes are on us. It's time we show the world how beautiful, creative, and united we truly are.
With your help we can gather the support needed to redesign and adopt a new city flag -- a flag we can all be proud to fly, a flag to promote and represent our city, and unite millions of Angelenos throughout Los Angeles and around the world.
Join us in urging Mayor Eric Garcetti and members of the Los Angeles City Council to change our flag.
