Alexander Hamilton High School is one of the few high schools in LAUSD District West that does not have a pool or a nearby recreation center for swimming. Our school swimming team was required to travel miles to reach a suitable site where they could practice for their competitions and meets.

Hamilton is undergoing a massive reconstruction called the "Comprehensive Modernization Project" which will take many years and millions of dollars to complete. According to websites such as fixr.com, an olympic-sized pool costs in between $300,000 and $500,000 to be fully installed. With the current budget that will be allotted for reconstruction, it is definitely possible that a pool could be added to the plans for the school.

We, the proud students of Hamilton High school, humbly demand a pool for the posterity.
