Sign The Vermont Democratic Party's Petition Now

On Wednesday, August 15th, extreme anti-choice New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte is coming to Vermont to host a fundraiser for the Vermont Republican Party.

Senator Ayotte is against marriage equality, against the funding of Planned Parenthood, wants to cut corporate taxes, and thinks that Romney's Vice Presidential nominee Congressman Paul Ryan is a "fantastic choice" - a resounding endorsement of someone wants to end Medicare and cripple our nation's ability to grow jobs with his extremist budget cuts.

With less than three months until the election, it is now more important than ever to stand up for what you believe in. Sign the petition and tell the Vermont Republican Party that you want to hear about the issues that face Vermont and our nation now, not the values that our parents fought for fifty years ago.

Now is the time. We can't go backwards, don't let them pull us there.

Dear Chairman Lindley;

By inviting extreme anti-choice New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte to Vermont on August 15th to host a fundraiser for the Vermont Republican Party, you're bringing in another out-of-state conservative radical to speak on the Party's behalf instead of focusing on the issues that will move our state forward. While her anti-choice opinions may be acceptable for your organization, I don’t think they should be welcomed in our state.

Over the next three months, I want to hear about the issues facing Vermont, not attacks on the values we as a state have fought to uphold.

Senator Kelly Ayotte is against marriage equality, against the funding of Planned Parenthood, wants to cut corporate tax rates, and thinks that Romney's Vice Presidential nominee Congressman Paul Ryan is a "fantastic choice" - a resounding endorsement of someone who wants to end Medicare and cripple our nation's ability to grow jobs with his extremist budget cuts.

Her heralded visit here is just another example of how your Party thinks that it’s okay to align with the far-right national agenda, forsaking the values of everyday Vermonters.

Well, it’s not. With less than three months until the election, it is more important than ever that I stand up for what Vermonters believe in.

We can't afford to go backwards.
