Heather Welch started this petition to We are looking to achieve positive results by getting this petition seen in Parliament
Problem
We are constantly reading about horrific abuse to animals, and more and more, its happening right here almost on our doorsteps. I want Parliament to acknowledge this petition, and hopefully take steps to look at enforcing more realistic punishments than what are already in place., and to be a deterrent to those choosing to neglect their animals.

Solution
I am aiming for collecting thousands of signatures for this petition so it can reach Parliament, and be acknowledged, and have this subject discussed hopefully with the start of results, standing up for all UK pets and animals.

Personal story
My name is Heather, and im a passionate animal lover, and have been involved in working with rescued animals over the years. I am a professional dog trainer, and own 3 German Shepherd dogs. We are all aware of the horrific stories we read in the papers and on facebook.
Over the past few months I have seen my breed starved to death, left to die in a spare room... one GSD abandoned tied to a post. Last week, it was a Shepherd found dead in Fife. This girlie had blunt force trauma to her head, and was found with a pool of blood around her head. The vets post mortem stated she was either hit with an instrument of some sort or kicked. She was emaciated weighing 16kg - half the weight of a normal health Shepherd so she was starved also . What a horrific end to a dogs life. There were also cats abandoned in the property also.
The photos were extremely disturbing and distressed me so much to the point of starting this petition.

This petition is to stand up and be a voice for ALL animals in the UK.
