Sarah Brookes started this petition to WCSU Students and

During the ongoing GLOBAL PANDEMIC, Western Connecticut State University (Danbury, CT) and, in particular, the National Panhellenic Council have been less than accommodating to their local AND national organizations on campus in regards to recruitment and number of active members. Some organizations are at risk of being disbanded this semester and the university is doing little to help, and comments such as “disbandments are more likely than not” or “just close down. It’s not worth the effort” are being made.

Please sign this petition to bring attention to the university, to NPC, and beyond, to allow for a semester break on rules regarding recruitment and active member status. Local and national organizations deserve a fighting chance, and it has not been easy during hard times not only in a pandemic but in regards to internal organization issues as well.

The point of this petition is to rally together to better the Greek community and to allow a semester break without penalty. Wether you’re local or national, alumni, active or inactive, we can all fight together as greek life members. No matter the letter, we’re all Greek together. Please help protect fellow Greek life at WCSU!

Note: an edit has been made as there was misinformation about the exact number of at risk organizations in Greek Life at WCSU, as well as wording for clarification on the nature of this petition.
