No funeral parlour in Charing Cross

A Funeral Parlour operating 24/7 is being proposed for the midst of the Charing Cross heritage village precinct - number 249 Bronte Road Waverley. In an area already beset by chronic parking problems, it is proposed to run funeral services in these premises from 8.30am - 10pm and to run hearses up Judges Lane, a residential area in which children play and live, at all hours of day and night. At least four to six parking spots in Bronte Road could be permanently lost. This proposal if approved will be death to parking and businesses in Charing Cross and change the whole nature of the village precinct. Residents and businesses do not want a funeral parlour in the midst of boutiques, cafes, supermarkets and medical services.
