Yesterday Wattpad took away the newsfeed button on their site and app. The newsfeed option was a great way for new or underrated authors to get noticed and for people to discover hidden talented people. Speaking from personal experience, I’ve found some of my favorite books on the newsfeed section of Wattpad and it makes me sad that the people like me who don’t have as many followers as some of the bigger and more prominent accounts can’t get their stories and opinions noticed by people who have similar opinions and values as we do. We demand that our voices be heard and that Wattpad brings it back. Those people will remain hidden and we have to do everything in our power to get newsfeed back so we can get noticed and so our voices are not silenced. Unless we can convince Wattpad to add the newsfeed back, some of the most talented authors in the internet could remain hidden forever.
