Chloe Mowrey started this petition to Wattaburg area school district and

The dress code at Wattaburg area school district is way out of date, like their trying to make us dress like nuns. We feel it needs to be updated to fit more modern popular styles. There are females being dress coded for the tinyest bit of skin showing, where a male student could be wearing the same thing if not more revealing right beside her. We feel the dress code was made the way it is mostly for male teachers so they don't get restricted while teaching. Too many dress codes are rooted in really dangerous sex stereotypes about what we think a girl should look like, and what we think a boy should look like.Boys don’t get dress coded as often, and when we are dress coded, we’re usually made to feel shameful for what we’re wearing. If a boy wears that same exact top or same exact shorts, it wouldn’t be distracting. The dress code prohibits tank tops, crop tops, ripped jeans and any garments that are too short or too long. They take you out of class to write you up or sometimes doesn't even tell you your out of dress code. Females get sexualized from the binding of their schooling to the end it needs stoped. We need either no dress code at all or a gender neutral dress code that doesn't pin point any specific gender.

My goal is to create a dress code that we can feel comfortable in, but still with respects to the school.
