Save Attico Art Centre!

Save Attico Art Centre!
As you may or may not have heard, Watford's most charming venue, Attico Art Centre, could be nearing the end of its short lived life. We're being muscled out, so lets rile together in protest for the Watford we love.
It would be such a sad sign of our times to see one of Watford's most progressive and quirky venues taken over by a property development company, and wasted into the growing abyss of characterless offices, shops, clubs and bars that we know too well.
Watford is a town with so much character, as we at Attico have witnessed in the last two years. The interest in Attico gained traction of it's own accord, and it was incredible to see so many varied and passionate creatives of all ages coming out of the woodwork! Thanks to everyone who has been involved, we have built a community oriented space which we know Watford needs so badly. But now we need everyone to rally together on this one, to buttress the rising talents of Watford and it's environs.
Martin Renshaw: "Here we go again. 10 years since we lost Taylor's, and we finally had an independent alternative venue emerge in Watford in the form of Attico Arts Centre. Now, it finds itself under threat in the shadow of the development companies. For what it's worth, please sign this petition to demonstrate local support for a venue which allows the inherent artistic and unique personality of our town to have an alternative platform. Thanks."
Pete Dewitt: "The developers and the council just don't seem to care about the people that actually live and play in the area! It's something seen so much now! Everywhere around us it goes on within residential and commercial buildings. As long as they're lining their pockets and living nicely in their mansion further out! Such a shame to lose the best live venue in Watford! Had some fantastic memorable nights of eclectic musical talent ranging from the dub nights, hip hop, dance & soul nights!
I'm sorry to hear this sad news for the area and of course, the lovely folks that made the time to create such a great space for those of us that wanted something different in Watford, besides those mundane clubs and bars that still exist up the road! "
