Riverside in Baltimore, Maryland can use the cleaning power of another waterwheel similar to the one located in Canton and Jones Falls. After the extreme success of trash being cleaned in the Inner Harbor, it only makes sense to keep adding waterwheels to clean water all throughout Baltimore City.
Unfortunately, Baltimore's beautiful harbor has been plagued with pollution and trash. Not only does this take away from the natural beauty of the water source, but it also is contaminating the watersheds and harbor. Many toxic pollutants are flowing into our harbor everyday due to the high industrialization, manufacturing, shipping and transportation in Baltimore City.
The two waterwheels in Canton and Jones Falls collect a majority of the pollution in those two areas. Using water currents as power, trash and debris get collected into the wheels and deposited into a barge until the waterwheels are collected and emptied. Both waterwheels are proving successful in cleaning up Baltimore's water sources and a third one in Riverside will be just as successful. We need help in order to raise funds to build and install this third waterwheel. Water pollution affects all the inhabitants of Baltimore city and all inhabitants in the water sources themselves. With a small donation, we can build a waterwheel and a better, cleaner water source for us and the environment.
