The Problem: In 2014, Washtenaw Community College began the CORE Garden project with the mission of growing vegetables and harvesting honey to give away for FREE to WCC students. Since then, hundreds of pounds of fresh vegetables and honey have been harvested. Despite this success, the CORE Garden's funds are being taken away after this year's growing season ends, and the greenhouse, garden boxes, and beehives will be disassembled and permanently removed.

What You Can Do: Sign this petition! Let WCC know that you care about the CORE Garden and you would like to see it again next year!

Our Mission Statement: We the students, staff and faculty of Washtenaw Community College petition for the necessary funds to be used to run and maintain the CORE Garden and beehives. The CORE Garden provides a hands-on opportunity for students and community members to grow and harvest vegetables, learn bee-keeping and gain an appreciation for farming. It also provides a space for people to relax, mediate and improve their mental health. We request continuation of full funding for the CORE Garden at Washtenaw Community College.
