It has gone on long enough that our country has tried to require something covering our face in order to enter workplaces, restaurants, bars, or other forms of entertainment. However, to try and make the stance that in order to receive a public EDUCATION, we must be covering our faces with a mask or we will be sent home is genuinely unconstitutional. Washoe County needs to give students the choice on whether or not they will wear a mask in school. How dare they tell us that we will not receive an education if we don’t cover our faces. This is not right and a clear violation of our rights as students and citizens in this country. Not only is this a violation of our rights to education and freedom, but studies have shown that wearing a mask reduces levels of oxygen to the brain and increases levels of CO2. This is detrimental to the health of students and children, and can also create fake causes for symptoms of COVID-19 such as headache and fatigue. The only way that we will get what we deserve in this county is to stand up and fight for it. Why can other states have a lesser infection rate and not require masks? It’s time to get back to common sense. Whether or not you believe in wearing a mask, the choice should still be ours. If they supposedly work as well as everyone seems to think then it shouldn’t be a problem if the people afraid are wearing them. As a student in this district I hear over and over complaints over wearing a mask, so let’s band together as students and do something about it.
