Let's make it so high schools can never give out social security information

As many of you know from the news, Washington State University had a hard drive with a million people's social security number, medical records, addresses, and other very confidential information on a hard drive (which was stolen) for the purpose of a survey for a Social and Economics class.

High Schools, or any other entity should not be able to give confidential information such as social security to anyone with out the expressed permission of the person who owns that social number.

Now, a million people are at risk of having their identities stolen, fradulant accounts made in their name, and other things that can affect them negatively.

It is absolutely wrong to give such important information away unbeknownst to the people who's schools participated in the program, especiall since many people affected by this are 10+ years or less graduated.

This is a very unfortunate situation that should be changed accordingly to make sure others in the future do not have to worry about their personal information being compromised.
