Playground equipment needs to be inspected and altered. The spacing of pars used to climb and swing are not suitable for small children. There are too many children being injured due to unsafe playground equipment. I propose a drastic change!!
Monkey bars are the culprit!! they are too big and the spaces in the apparatuses make climbing and safety almost impossible. Children are falling, resulting in broken bones and bruises, with the potential for serious injury. Monkey bars should be removed and replaced with equipment that is more child friendly as well as safer to utilize.
Children's National Medical Center here in Washington DC reported that they see no less than 3 injuries per week due to children falling off of the monkey bars. THIS MUST CHANGE!! WE MUIST PROTECT OUR CHILDREN AT ALL COSTS !!!!
There has to be a safer alternative to monkey bars. Just this past week my 3 year old had to endure a very painful procedure to put his entire forearm back in place because he was not properly supervised at school while playing o the monkey bars. This is not acceptable. We must make these changes to ensure or children's safety!
