End the Silence - Cover an imprisoned American in Egypt's jails

This is the story of my friend: Mohamed Soltan, a 26-year-old US citizen, who was thrown in jail in Egypt after protesting the bloody coup which took place there last July. To the day of writing this petition, he has been detained for 236 days and has been on a hunger strike for 83 days. There is no charge against him, yet he is left to slowly die without significant news coverage. His family, which lives in No. Virginia, is very concerned about how long he can last on this hunger strike.
Soltan has written a letter featured in on of the New York Times blogs: http://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/01/24/letter-to-obama-from-american-detained-in-egypt/
Please ask the Washington Post to break the silence and cover his story.
