Make Washington County, Georgia LOCAL ELECTIONS NON PARTISAN

Local elections in Washington County, Georgia are being limited in their ability to effectively reflect the will of citizens because candidates are required to declare a party - Democratic or Republican. Largely due to tradition, local candidates almost always declare as Democratic candidates. Republican Voters who desire to vote in statewide elections are, therefore, forced to make a decision - vote in local elections and not vote in statewide races or forego the local election and only cast votes in statewide elections.
Local candidates declaring a party is unnecessary and suppresses the local vote. Change can happen! Our Board of Commissioners can request our State Representative, Mack Jackson, to introduce legislation making our local elections nonpartisan.
Let your voice be heard! Demand our County Commissions request our local elections be nonpartisan.
