Washington Community School's has just announced that the WHS Class of 2020 Seniors will only be offered a virtual graduation ceremony, yet the city of Washington, IN is still having a 4th of July Celebration with rides and a crowd. This is unfair to the seniors who have worked so hard to reach graduation. Under Governor Holcomb's revised plan, festivals and and other similar outdoor events may open beginning July 4th. It is very possible to have a safe, outdoor, social-distanced, and in-person graduation ceremony for our 2020 seniors. Here is how:

- The ceremony would be held at the football field.

- Seniors would make a line with individuals 6 feet apart circling the football field and be called one by one.

- A small team will be responsible for disinfecting the mic in between individual speakers.

- It would be asked that only those necessary attend. This includes the seniors, their close family and friends, and necessary faculty.

- There will be a station with masks and hand sanitizer at each entryway.

- Masks would be required for all attendees who are capable. This includes seniors, family of seniors attending, and school faculty. If you have a problem with this, stay home and watch it from home.

- It would be live streamed on zoom, facebook, etc.
