There has been a lot of upset in the “entire student body”, I will not use this term because I am not speaking on their behalf. Nonetheless I agree with the decision to reschedule homecoming to 9/18.  The amount of effort and dedication that is put into sports by student athletes is hard to understand for some. Those who are not involved in sports will never know what it takes to be a student athlete, and don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with that but they should not be allowed to speak on behalf of the athletes. The amount of hours and practices put in over the summer/ season is truly hard to believe. These football boys truly deserve to play their game on Saturday night. With just 4 home games total the seniors are quickly running out of time. No one has enjoyed dealing with the COVID virus and most people don’t agree with how it is handled. Nevertheless a dance can be rescheduled to a later date while a football season has a limited amount of time. With COVID cases rising( people getting tested too much, in my opinion) the sports seasons could be canceled at anytime. Football isn’t just for the students, it is for the community. Sports is what holds this community together. So this football game truly is more important than a dance. Sign this petition if you agree.
