It has been six years since we’ve seen a solo Superman movie and recently Warner Bros. have admitted that they don’t know how to make Superman ‘relevant’ to this generations audiences which is a ridiculous statement. Superman is one of the most iconic characters in pop culture history and to me he deserves another solo movie, to quote Captain America “If I’m the only one so be it. But I’m willing to bet I’m not.” Which is why I’ve made this petition so we show Warner Bros. and DC Comics that want a new Superman movie with Henry Cavill still playing the Man of Steel. There have been rumours of a potential recast of the character which would be a huge mistake, Henry Cavill has expressed his desire to return to the role, how much he cares for the character and how much more he wants to do with the role. Recently in an interview with Jake Hamilton he said: “Where we left off with Man of Steel, in particular, was the guy who had found his place, or was trying to find his place but had sort of found it by the end, that had committed something which he would consider a most horrific sin by killing the last member of his species,” Cavill told Hamilton. “That is a place where I would like to travel from with the character. Him exploring the positivity of who he is. Not necessarily the chocolate box version, but the leaning into that. That character who becomes an icon of hope and enjoying that experience rather than necessarily being made uncomfortable by it.’’ This just goes to show that Cavill is this generations perfect Clark Kent/Superman and he has the potential to bring Superman back to the height of his popularity in cinema. Warner Bros. would be making a huge mistake to drop Cavill from the role so please sign this petition if you want Henry Cavill to continue playing our favourite Kryptonian. Thank you for reading.
