Common Consensus started this petition to Warner Brothers and

Warner Brothers has had it's fair share of mishaps, problems, and utter failures. Fans will endure the pain no longer. Warner Brothers needs to touch base with the fans of DC and finally be in tune with what people want. After the revival of the true Justice League as seen through the eyes of Snyder, Warner Brothers is inclined to see the value of fans input. It is an injustice for Warner Brothers to continue on it's current path of disorganization, disconnection, bad leadership and disregard. Superman is being rebranded. Not as a new character, not as a familiar character but as the same character in a different world. DC is making Kal-El a black character and searching for a black director to helm the project. Not only is this completely unnecessary but it also disregards established black Supermen within DC that fans would appreciate seeing. This also disregards other directors who work hard for positions only for the forced inclusion of a black director to shut them out. The basis of appointing the directorial position should never be skin color. That is not equality. That is discrimination. Anyone should be able to direct the movie if qualified regardless of skincolor. Establishing another superman who's only known difference is skin color, is unwanted and unneeded when the current superman still exists. Calvin Ellis and Val-Zod are both desirable additions or different takes. However, what this ultimately comes down to is that Henry Cavill has already been established and is fit to continue the role. If you believe in Man of Steel 2, Henry Cavill, and making Warner Brothers once again listen to it's fans, join the cause. Spread the common consensus.
