We are trying to turn the unused Lennox club room into a new boxing gym and a safe space for our young people. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP. 

The Lennox club room is a building located on the Lennox estate and owned by the council. It is intended for use by the residents of the Lennox estate, however it has stood barely used for the past 5 years. The occasional youth club sessions are run by Chelsea Kicks a few times a month and we want to make sure this building is used as much as it can be used!

Yusuf Lagden who has ran football sessions through the Chelsea Kicks programme and worked with charity Regenerate in the area along with Mark Woodward Smith a local business man, have been in talks with the council about changing the clubroom into an all purpose amateur boxing gym that can be used by young people at no cost to them. 

Boxing is an excellent sport and a way to teach young people discipline and control, it helps to burn off excess energy and gives young people the opportunity to gain confidence and self esteem. We will also run workshops for young people creating awareness around topics that concern young people and the social justice issues of today. Young people need these outlets to help grow them, and with many organisations and youth clubs closing, we want to provide a space where the door is always open.

We want to provide free sessions to local young people and subsidies the running of the club by integrating sessions into our programme for those that have the means to afford them. Jeremy Ambache, local councillor for the Lennox Ward is behind our plans, as is Claire Gilbert and Fleur Anderson. 

We will work alongside all current stakeholders involved with the clubroom including the residents, Chelsea Kicks and the council to make sure the Lennox club room is used as much as can be. We want to integrate our sessions with their young people and provide as much support for them as possible.
