Request to maintain current hours within GGE CPZ

The introduction of the CPZ in Francis Road has greatly improved the parking for local residents enabling them to park near their home. Prior to this the parking was almost impossible resulting in sometimes 10 minutes of scouting for a space often hundreds of meters away.

I would suggest that whilst not a right, parking at least in your own road is not unreasonable. For those with young children, elderly or physically impaired in their household the lack of parking was a real hindrance.Notably as soon as the hours of operation come to an end parking is dramatically reduced. I believe that The current CPZ hours of 8-6:30 should be maintained and a move to change this will be detrimental to local residents.

Additionally the council could look to review the parking for shops in the current stretch of Francis road that is not part of the CPZ. I believe it should offer residents parking but also offer 15 mins free parking for shoppers. Presently it is full of cars that just sit their for days with no benefit to local residents or shops.

Presently the system is working and enables residents to park most if the time but also enables them just enough time to park after work, if reduced many will struggle to park again. If you feel the same please sign.
