There is an ongoing parking crisis with Stirling Rd and Sutherland rd E17
There have been 4 major developments and 2 smaller ones off of these 2 small roads, with hundreds of homes built and another still under construction. Since the development of these flats begun there has been increase in parking problems which has now become a parking crisis.
Many of the residents who live on Stirling and Sutherland Rd find themselves unable to park. The road is surrounded by controlled zones, and there are no alternative parking for us. The developments come with their own private spaces only accessible to themselves and not extended to the local houses, many of the tenants in these developments choose not to pay to park in their private parking, opting to park on the non controlled roads, and there are not many!
For many of us that means that when we come home after work or shopping we are waiting hours to park, often falling asleep in cars while waiting, and even then having to fight for the space that has just become available, we also cant have visitors round and have issues getting workers in due to the restrictions. Several of the residents work 24 hour shirt work and after a night shift struggle to find a space.
Waltham forest need to make the roads part of the controlled parking zones, so we can finally park on our street and adjacent streets before the situation gets any worse, and before the latest development is completed!
I have lived and worked in Waltham forest for at least 20 years, and the parking problems are throughout the borough. At the moment Stirling and Sutherland rd are one of the worst affected particularly because it is near a station and doesn’t have that many residents in comparison to most roads, so we are not even up for consideration. This needs to be changed!
We are the minority now that the flats have been built, but we are the only ones who do not have any alternative form of spaces available to us!
Your Signatures will help force Waltham Forest to realise action needs to be taken. Not only do these roads need to be considered, but actually made part of the local controlled zone.
