Aiysha Bashir started this petition to Waltham Forest council and trafficking team and

This petition is to oppose the parking restrictions being imposed by the Waltham Forest traffic team.

We object to the removal of the free short stay parking bays from the front of properties 313-321 Higham Hill Road. We have detailed the negative impact it will have and highlighted the concerns for our business, Higham Hill Post Office, and it’s service users as a direct result of the removal of the free short stay parking bays.

Impact on Customers/Service Users.

Disabled customers

Currently no dedicated disabled bays, reducing the current parking space would further disadvantage disabled customers in accessing our post office at 313 Higham Hill Road.

Residential customers

Pensioners and those that are sick who need assistance or depend on others to come to the post office for their pension or for any other services will be unable to have their needs met at this branch due to restrictions.

Business customers

Post, large volumes, heavy to carry. Concern to customer health and safety; convenience;

Passing trade

This would block them accessing the post office as they won’t be able to stop for short period as well as there being resident parking on side roads close by which would not allow for them to stop.

Delivery of cash/secure stock

Although you have proposed to extend the space in front of the co-op this is not sufficient and would disadvantage our customers access to the post office and it’s services. The insufficient parking space would force customers to go elsewhere. This would have a direct negative impact on our business and this is unacceptable.
