Acording to the State of Homelessness Report, in 2016 564,708 people in the U.S. were homeless. 50% of the homeless population is over the age of 50, 15% of the homeless population has a disability and has experienced at least four episodes of homelessness in the last three years. The number households in poverty paying more than 50 percent of their income toward housing totaled 6.6 million in 2014, with 33 states seeing an increase. However, you can help to decrease these numbers by supporting this proposal!

As you know, there is a need for more safe, affordable housing in Waltham for low-wage workers, seniors and disabled individuals. With rising rents, these Waltham residents are at risk of being priced out of their housing, and some are at risk of homelessness.

We believe that no matter who you are and what social status you have, everyone deserves to live in a house that is safe and affordable.

Therefore, I would like to invite you to join us and support the proposal by Metro West Collaborative Development to convert 26-30 Waltham apartments into de-leaded, well maintained homes with affordable rent restrictions!
