On a lighter but serious note, on behalf of African children all around the world, many themselves speaking of this with many questions, I just felt it was time to show you how Africans will love the idea of representing them as people in the movies their children watch.
With Africa representing one of the worlds most diverse populations in the world, at this critical time in history you have a responsibility to represent its people, religions and cultures in a movie. Helping Africans in their diverse groups represented in a movie can help solve the problems facing the continent and inspire everyone around a dream or goal.
I believe that though some do not get to watch the movies for so many reasons, as a collective audience we do have the power to impact growth and to inspire a whole generation to see themselves in the characters that we show on TV. Nigeria alone with almost half the population of the US can make a huge difference in just the numbers that will appreciate this move.
Today many African animators are more creative than ever and are able to bring characters to life, they are filling the gap created by major players by characters that resemble and speak or share the same values. Mulan, Moana, Ratatouille have been successful examples. Note: Africans do not regard The Lion king as much of a human story so I hope you understand the point here.
I highly recommend you look into this for your next major project. It’s 2017 Join us in helping to make beautiful African stories come to life for all to see.
