Workplace rules about personal items wage a silent war on women. Typically, men who've never experienced a menstrual cycle are the ones that make these rules which target feminine hygiene products. Women find themselves in emergency situations constantly, that don't allow the time for a trip to a locker and then back to a bathroom.

What would it take to get feminine hygiene products included in First Aid Kits? These kits are readily available to women in workplaces with otherwise strict rules about personal items.

Rule makers are creating an environment of dishonesty and secrecy as women are forced to stash these products. Why should women have to feel like criminals over something that happens to half of the population? Women make up the majority of employees in food production, where these rules are most common.

Walmart Fresh areas like Bakery and Deli have a majority of women working in them. These areas have stricter Health Codes, and women are often told they cannot keep tampons or pads in the area. These Fresh areas are placed at the front of the store, with the lockers and associate break rooms being at the back of the store. Many female associates working in these areas can tell you horror stories about ruining clothing because of a menstrual cycle that started with little to no warning. There are also many women at Walmart who are experiencing menopause, where cycles are unpredictable. For all of these women, walking across the store to their locker and then backtracking to a bathroom (sometimes it's even closed for cleaning!) is not a good option.

Please, Walmart, include feminine hygiene products in your associate first aid kits. As an industry leader, YOU have the power to change the lives of countless female workers.

Thank you!
