Petitioning Wal-Mart CEO Michael Duke

WalMart eliminates health care for workers

Wal-Mart has been number 1 on the Fortune 500 list two years in a row, earning $14 billion in profits last year. On October 21, 2011, NY Times reported Wal-Mart would prohibit part-time employees from using their health care plan, and ban spouses from getting health insurance. At a time when Wal-Mart employs 1.4 million people, in a nation with high unemployment, families depend on Wal-Mart for survival. The WalMart family, the Waltons, are among the richest people in the world-this year some estimates project the family will earn $2.5 billion in dividend income. Cutting benefits is wrong.

I just signed the following petition addressed to: Wal-Mart CEO Michael Duke.

Rescind their plan to cut health benefits to employees and their families
